Those are exactly what I used the first time. However, I wore them on top rather than sewing them on (and wore them upside down to expose the side without the rigging). I guess I could just sew on my old ones. Thing is, the nylon doesn't take paint well and it's always cracking off. Would make laundering an issue. I've considered the quilted approach you mention but they usually come out too puffy looking to me. I guess if I found a suitable red synthetic material (not plain 'ol cloth)... Thanks for the suggestions!

I think at least I am pretty sure if you go to Jo-Ann Fabrics and crafts you can find washable red synthetic material and it isn't that expensive. KAR
