Character doubles are not encouraged but theres never been a rule that prohibited them. As the group grows there will eventually be doubles and people will have to share the spotlight sometimes. I'd rather people try and create costumes that have yet to be done however until the roster is pretty full. This is one of the reasons I came up with the 'Character doubles' thread and tried to offer a solution with greenshirts or something but everyone seemed to agree that if another person did they same outfit they'd just grin and bear it and be friendly with one another. We currently have two Shipwrecks in the group. No one is to claim that they or anyone else is the 'official' any Shipwreck, Barbecue, Duke, whatever, etc character in this group. This costuming group is relaxed and I and I know you all would like to keep it that way. This post is not meant to come down on anyone in particular. Its just to clear some things up.

Personally I don't think their should be doubles unless, we've done all characters or the person would make a good version of said character.

I had already started work on my Duke costume before I found this website. I don't see a problem with doubles, though. If I came across another Duke at a con, I'd be delighted to see another JOE costumer, not mad at having my spotlight stolen. Milf Viper - Yeah, I have black hair. However, I was able to temporarily go blonde with some rub-in hair coloring, which is hard to see in the pictures.

You did a good job, Michael. The hair was actually the right 'dirty blonde' look for the character.

Thanks. The bandoleer was actually pretty challenging to make, but I think it was worth the effort. The hair in the cartoon (as evidenced in my avatar) was always a completely solid blonde--like blonde hair always is in a cartoon--but I figured the "dirty blonde" was about as close I was going to get without having an actual hair dye.

Great costume there man but one bit of constructive criticism. You're Duke. The world is your Cobra! Pick that boot up and crush its slimy little head until its brains ooze out over its limp forked tounge and by the gods of everything holy look like your enjoying it.

Personally, I say GREAT job. The only thing that's not Duke is the face. But that kind of surgery is expensive! ;P
Who cares if we have another Duke? There are 2 Vaders at every one of the local sci-fi cons here, and there are bound to be a few Obi-Wans or Anakins.
Big deal. =/
