Are you serious?! The (I guess you could say) "start" of the GI JOE costumers was in the midwest! There's plenty of cons to go to if you look around. How can you say that dressing up as a GI Joe started in the midwest? *goes back to working on his Jinx outfit then, knowing O'Hara would hurt if not kill him if he did Scarlett and not even mentioning what might happen if did Cover Girl* ;D

I went and ordered my nametags for my DBUs and I got 2 sets from clothing sales the other day on base. You should have seen the look the sales clerk gave me when she asked name and what branch of service. When I said GI Joe, she asked if I was for real or truely joking. She finally tok ,y word. LOL She thought I was crazy I guess, . I told her it was for a costume, she then chilled out quite a bit. I also picked up my face camo, since the hus has a totall different color then what I need on his sand stick. The 16 is due to arrive tomorrow. I am slowly but surely getting there.

Okay , Just a little update. I have the uniform together. I just need to get the pictures. The ones i had the hus erased thinking i had a chance to save them. I was to go to a friends home this week to redo them, but unfortunatly he had a death in the family and had to leave OOT ASAP. So I am trying for next week. VR Medic

How can you say that dressing up as a GI Joe started in the midwest? I'm not saying in general that people haven't dressed up as Joes some time before, I mean on THIS board, the initial batch of us were 5 people from the Detroit area and 1 person from the Chicago area. Midwest, see? I had the first version of my costume since 1998. The founder of this website and I talked for a bit online and he hosted this GI JOE COSTUMERS website for us. Now the group is larger, with another large batch of Joes popping up from Florida, after seeing the Midwest folks at DragonCon 2 years ago.
