GAH! 360 days away............that's friggin' depressing.
I wonder if I can make WizardWorld Dallas...
And there is a small rumbling over on cobracares about possibly making a visit to the Joe convention 4th of July weekend at Disney World in Orlando next year...

Anyone have any ideas on sharing rooms?
About how much money should be saved for Dragoncon anyway?

People are always sharing rooms for DC. Don't worry too much about it now.
I've gone to DC the last 3 years on a total of $300 each, and that's including my share of the hotel room, my share of gas, 5 days worth of food, and buying a few odds and ends at the dealer room.
This year I ordered my pass ahead of time but the other years I got it right there, and that was included in the money. It all depends on how much "extra money" you want to spend on stuff in the dealer room and at the bar. I'm not really a drinker myslef, so I save a boatload of money that way!

I made it for under $400 including hotel going out to dinnerevery night, alcohol, gas, parking, and the dealer room.

Rooms can almost always be wangled with the help of your buddies. Badges for DCon start at $35 for the whole weekend and go up from there as you get closer to the actual date. Badges purchased at the last minute can cost you ~$75. Food can be purchased at the food court in the mall next door/underground for fairly reasonable prices but that mall closes early and then you're at the mercy of the tourist-driven restaurants in downtown Hotlanta. The best prices I saw this year in a sit-down restaurant was at Hooter's, but I didn't buy beer so I can't speak to that. Alcohol is best bought in volume at a local package store. Or backpacked in if you aren't flying. Alcohol purchased in the bar in the Hyatt is what I fondly call "Friggin' Overpriced." This is due to the fact that they price-gouge during the weekend. -- know this to be fact since I bought a coke in the bar on Thursday for like 2.50 and that same coke was 1.50 on Monday -- Oh... And hell yeah, the 21st'll be there! We don't miss DCon. Next year'll be my sixth. It's my only big vacation, I can't do without!
